Hearts stitch journal, 11 January 2018

Up early, into pitch darkness and rain. All I could see in my torch beam as I squelched down the lane was mud – thick brown mud rutted with tractor tracks from our wood delivery yesterday. The wood is now piled head-high in the barn, ready to keep us toasty for the rest of winter. Today’s thread is a six-strand matte twist by DMC, from the stash I just bought on Ebay. They were described as tapestry wool by the vendor and they do look and feel like wool, although they are actually cotton. Last night I sorted out my side table a bit to make more room for sewing kit.
