Horrendous weather this morning – torrential rain and driving wind, coming from almost due west. Small pockets of woodland protect us from the prevailing south-west wind and the rarer north-west wind, but today’s weather drove straight between them. I stomped along the lane, rain sheeting down my face, unable to see much except the strange, stop-motion effect of the rain, which looked truly silver in the torch beam. Today’s threads are a Madeira silver/black metallic rayon machine embroidery thread (surprisingly easy to sew with) and a black vintage sewing thread that is very glossy, from the vintage stash I bought on Ebay UK: I think it’s Terylene. I used four strands of each for the outline and eight strands of the Madeira for the infill.
