Sewing box

When the DH and I were riffling through discount store Action the other day, I found a new sewing box – I’m quite pleased with it. It’s only a naff little thing made of MDF but  has a decent-size section at the top, which I’m using for threads on one side and repeat-use items like thread conditioner, hand cream and scissors on the other, and it has little drawers underneath that enable me to keep needles separate from other paraphernalia like marking pens, my heart template and thimbles.

The knobs were missing, so I got the DH to drill a hole for me and I knotted some hairy string to make pull handles.

I think this will be more convenient on my side table than the heart-shaped box I was using and which I couldn’t protect from ash.
