Hearts stitch journal, 11 March 2018

A spectacular sky this morning, with a street of cumulus broken into cubes of grey and white against a bright silver sun. As I walked down the lane towards the west, the sky was a deep and brilliant blue. All the birds were singing in the woodland and it really felt like spring. Today I fancied a bit of needleweaving, as it’s Sunday and I have some time. The threads are grey cotton perlé, blue coton à broder, blue rayon floss, hand-dyed coton à broder in shades of grey, white cotton embroidery thread and silver embroidery thread. The stitches are a double row of chain stitch for the outline and needleweaving infill.
