A freezing, clear morning with a lovely sunrise that turned into a cloudless blue sky. Each morning, I start the day by going into the kitchen for a glass of water and today there was a peculiar effect. As the sunlight streamed through the kitchen window to the east, it was fully reflected in the window to the west, making it look as if the sun was rising in two places at once. Due to the lie of the land, it also appeared to be the exact same height above the landscape in both directions, making me do a double-take. Today’s threads are blue modern rayon embroidery thread and 1920s rayon floss in orange, peach and yellow. The stitches are double threaded running stitch for the outline and spider’s wheel and straight stitch for the suns.
